Reggiani

Reggiani was founded in 1957 by Goffredo Reggiani in the Brianza area, near Monza, Italy. The company first became known for decorative lighting, including table lamps, floor lamps, wall lamps and ceiling lights, before gradually moving towards more technical and architectural lighting.

Many early Reggiani lamps were designed by Goffredo Reggiani himself. Early designs often used materials such as plywood, brass, chrome-plated metal and satin opal glass. Some of these lamps have a restrained, almost Scandinavian character, while later designs from the 1960s and 1970s are often more sculptural, colourful and technically ambitious.

Over the years, Reggiani also worked with a wide range of designers, architects and lighting design studios. Among the names associated with the company are Álvaro Siza, Bruno Gecchelin, Fabio Reggiani, Arup, Fisher Marantz Stone, L.A.P.D., MOMO Design, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, Setsu & Shinobu Ito, Speirs + Major and the Reggiani design team.

Today, Reggiani is still active as an Italian lighting company, mainly focused on architectural lighting for interiors, retail spaces, museums, hospitality projects and outdoor applications. In 2023, Nemo Lighting acquired a majority stake in Reggiani Illuminazione, creating a larger Italian lighting group that combines decorative and architectural lighting.
Reggiani Lighting Forum

The Reggiani Lighting Forum is located at the company’s headquarters in Sovico, near Monza. It is a 2,500 m² / 26,910 sq ft museum and showroom dedicated to lighting history, design and technology.

An important part of the museum is the Mascaretti collection, one of the best-known European collections of historic lamps. Reggiani acquired the collection after the death of its owner, when it was at risk of being dispersed. The collection was reorganised and expanded with donations and new purchases, and is now permanently displayed inside the Lighting Forum.
