Herda Mushroom Table Lamp

Materials: Chromed metal (iron) wire frame base. Chrome tube and parts. Pull cord switch in chrome with a chrome ball below. Degrading brown acrylic mushroom lampshade, white on the inside. Bakelite E27 socket.

Electricity: 1 bulb E27, 1 x 60 watt maximum, 110/220 volt.
Any type of light bulb can be used. But preferably a white, opaque or frosted one.

Other versions: This Herda mushroom table lamp exists in degrading brown and was also made with a white lampshade.

The lampshade of this table lamp is reminiscent of the Harvey Guzzini lamps. The plastic is much thinner and more fragile. The chrome wire base is reminiscent of the Moana table lamp. Also a lamp by Harvey Guzzini and a design by Luigi Massoni. 

Herda

Herda Verlichting BV (Herda Lighting company) was a owned by the Dutch “brothers Daniels” family and was located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Founded in 1946 by Henk en Rob Daniels. The name Herda is the abbreviation of the surname of Mr. Herwaarden and the surname of the Daniels brothers. Mr Herwaarden had arranged the permit (which was very difficult after the war). The company was declared bankrupt on June 24, 1997.

Herda had some top designers employed, including Willem van Oyen Sr. who is famous for his Chartres wall lights he designed for the Raak company, also from The Netherlands. You can find these lamps on the Vintageinfo website, click here.
