A white Ateljé Lyktan Bumling pendant lamp was used as a prop in the 2015 Nordic noir crime television series The Bridge (Broen – Bron). Starring Sofia Helin, Thure Lindhardt and Dag Malmberg.
An Ateljé Lyktan Bumling pendant lamp was used as a prop in the 2020 Spanish-German crime film Ofrenda A La Tormenta (Offering to the Storm). It is the third and final instalment in the Baztán Trilogy. In all 3 films many lamps appear. Although it is almost an overkill in this last film. Starring Marta Etura, Leonardo Sbaraglia and Paco Tous.
Two brass Ateljé Lyktan Bumling pendant lamps were used as a prop in the 2020 Swedish TV series Kärlek & Anarki (Season 1 Episode 1). Starring Ida Engvoll, Björn Mosten, Björn Kjellman.
An Ateljé Lyktan Bumling desk lamp was used as a prop in the 2015 Icelandic crime TV series Case (Season 1 Episode 8), original named Réttur or Right. Starring Magnús Jónsson, Jóhanna Vigdís Arnardóttir and Víkingur Kristjánsson.

Other versions: The Atelje Lyktan Bumling pendant lamp exists in many colours and several varieties and 6 sizes. Also floor lamps, wall lamps and desk lamps were made. Also a lamp-table exists, it is named Bumlingbord. The outdoor wall lamp is named Bumling Utomhus (outdoors). They were a big succes. Anders Pehrson
Anders Pehrson, born September 19, 1912 in Göteborg (Gothenburg), Sweden, was an industrial designer. After studying engineering, Anders Pehrson worked from 1952 to 1963 as a design manager and designer at Philips AB in Stockholm.
He was director of Ateljé Lyktan from 1963 to 1978. For Atelje Lyktan he designed the Circling, Forsythia, Golvlampa, King, Knubbling, Oak, Ofir Octav, Rampling, Simris or Olympia, Skrivbordslampa, Supertube, Tube, Vaggtub and his most famous design this Bumling lamp series. Many other lamps were designed, you can find the all in the catalogue. Also lamps with only numbers exists.
Several of Anders Pehrson’s works are exhibited in the Swedish National Museum. For the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany, 16300 Simris lamps were made for the interior lighting of the Olympic Village. The original design of the Simris lamp was made in 1964.
Anders Pehrson passed away July 14, 1982. He was only 69.
Ateljé Lyktan
Ateljé Lyktan is a Swedish lighting company founded in 1934 by Hans Bergström and his girlfriend Verna Norell. They wanted to make lamps and weave rugs.
Hans would look after the lamp making and Verna would be in charge of the weaving workshop. The Swedish words for workshop and lamp combined to form the name: Ateljé Lyktan.
Ateljé Lyktan has been active in Åhus for most of its history, and still has its head office there (2020). The company is now part of the Fagerhulst Group, which acquired Ateljé Lyktan in 1974.
Important designers in the company’s history have been Hans Bergström, Anders Pehrson, Bengt Fitger, Tommy Govén, Kristin Leibel, Kristian Andréason, Mia Cullin, Henrik Schulz, Lars Bessfelt, Hannelore Dreutler, Per Sundstedt, Anna Ehrner, Herta Bengtsson, Richard Carruthers, Göran Pehrson, Hans Philips Zachau, Dag Holmgren, Walter Leeman, Mats Wiman and many more.
