Peculiar Machine Desk Lamp

Materials: Square clear acrylic base and tube. Grey powder coated iron parts. Elongated lampshade with 2 chrome caps. Metal parts and screws. 3 chrome screws. Porcelain G2-socket.

Height: 31 cm / 12.20”

Width: 31 cm / 12.20”

Base: 25 x 25 cm / 9.84” x 9.84”

Electricity: 1 bulb G2, 1 x 20 watt maximum, 220 volt.
Any type of G2 halogen light bulb can be used, not a specific one preferred. 

Period: 2000s.

Manufacturer: To be appraised.

Other versions: It is unknown if this peculiar machine desk lamp was made in other versions or colours.

Unfortunately this lamp has no label. Perhaps it is a one off made lamp, by an artist or someone at high school. Very good and solid made and finely finished.

The transformer 220 volt to 11,5 volt was produced by the Belgian company EREA Energy Engineering BVBA from Wijnegem in August 2003. This one is model EREATRONIC 60i/AD. The date is printed in the middle of the label: 08/03.

In all probability this lamp was made in Belgium.

VLM Components

The switch of this desk lamp is made by the Italian VLM Components  company in the 1990s/2000s. It is a design by Achille Castigilioni from 1968VLM Components is located in Buccinasco, near Milan. The company is famous for the switches they produced that are designed by Achille Castigilioni. This switch is model 450. It was made after 1993, it has the European CE markings.
