Other versions: This Leucos Gill table lamp is a strange version. “Normal” table lamps have a black aluminium base. This one is made in glass. Or it is a special version or the base was lost or broken and replaced. It would be strange, but you never know.

Vetro Doublé: an object made of two layers of glass normally of two different colours.

Roberto Pamio

The Leucos Gill table lamp was designed by Roberto Pamio in 1962.  The wall lamp and flush mount are still in production. These lights exists in several sizes. The aluminium bases were made in black or white.

Roberto Pamio graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of Venice, works at an international level in the field of architectural planning and design. He studied under the guidance of professors such as: Carlo Scarpa, Giuseppe Samonà, Ignazio Gardella, Giancarlo De Carlo and Bruno Zevi.

Roberto Pamio was added to the province of Venice’s Registry of Architects in 1969 and joined the Association of Industrial Design (ADI) in 1984.

His experiences in Mexico in the eighties and later in New York, Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam and Japan have stimulated his creative sensibility. In all of his architecture, natural elements such as light, air and water are emphasised. Turning space into something fluid and changeable.

Moving around within his creations, one never has the impression of facing foreseeable choices. The house loses its traditional function and becomes a “liberated” house.

Roberto Pamio also co-operates with important companies dealing with lighting, furniture and accessories. Attributing a unique meaning to objects, which is determined by the fusion of proportion, lightness, technology and aesthetics.

Roberto Pamio designed lamps for Leucos, Iguzzini, Artemide, Fabbian, Pallucco, Otylight and Studio Italia Design.

The Leucos Gill 40 Wall Lamp was the first design in 1962 when the Leucos company started. Gill is a wall or ceiling mount featuring a round, hand blown glass diffuser in clear crystal with a circular white opal detail across the front.
