This bas-relief brass table lamp has a paper label on the bottom, J.L.B. 75 watt Max, Type: (hand written) “Bas Relief”.
A bas-relief or low relief originates from the Italian “basso rilievo”. It is a projecting image with a shallow overall depth. This rectangular bas-relief of flowers and birds is carved in wood and painted gold. Painted brown on the back.

The switch, socket and plug of this table lamp were made by VLM Components in the late 70’s, early 80’s.

The switch on this table lamp is model 450; the small model of the famous switch designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1968.
