Materials: Round white painted iron base. Thin chromed metal rod (iron). White painted aluminium mushroom lampshade. Some metal parts. Galvanised metal E27 sockets.

Lampshade: ∅ 34 cm / 13.38”
Base: ∅ 17 cm / 6.69”
Electricity: 2 bulbs E27, 2 x 60 watt maximum, 110/220 volt.
Any type of light bulb with an E27 screw base can be used, not a specific one preferred.
Period: 1960s, 1970s – Mid-Century Modern.
Designer: Klaus Slama.
Manufacturer: DORIA-Werkstätten, Walter Donner GmbH & Co. KG, Fürth, Germany.
Other versions: This DORIA mushroom table lamp exists with a polished aluminium lampshade and was also made in black. It exists as a floor lamp and a pendant lamp. These lamps are very rare and hard to find. The lampshade is adjustable in height. This lamp is model 1198.
The pendant lamp model K 63150 received an iF Design Award in 1981. But maybe that’s a typo. These lamps are definitely from the 1960s to see on the used materials, electric components, design and the sixties DORIA label. Klaus Slama designed several lamps for DORIA. Unfortunately no information can be found about the designer.

DORIA-WERK, DORIA-Werk – Beleuchtungsglas – Beleuchtungskörper orDoria-Werkstätten, Walter Donner GmbH & Co. KG was founded after the Second World War in Fürth, near Nürnberg, Germany in 1948. The name changed over the years. The internal design team was named DORIA-Studio. The company is often named Doria Leuchten.
DORIA no longer exists. The firm was declared bankrupt in 1986.

Richard Essig – Often said that he designed lamps for DORIA, but it was a wholesale company that bought, among other things, old stocks. Essig sold lamps made by Staff, Disderot, Massive and several other companies, labelled with Richard Essig – Besigheim. You will never find a lamp attributed to Essig with a DORIA label.
