Chrome Rectangular Table Lamp

Materials: Metal (iron) hollow square beam base with a thick layer of chrome. Chrome brass rod. Ornamental chrome screws. Square conical fabric lampshade with a metal frame, adjustable in height. 2 white painted Bakelite E27 sockets.

Lampshade: 41,5 x  41,5 cm / 16.33 x 16.33”

Height: 72 – 86 cm / 28.34 – 33.85” – adjustable

Base: 12 x 12 cm / 4.72”

Electricity: 2 bulbs E27, 2 x 60 watt maximum, 110/220 volt.
Any type of light bulb with an E27 screw base can be used. Not a specific one preferred.

Period: 1970s – Mid-Century Modern.

Other versions: This chrome rectangular table lamp exists in all probability in several sizes.

Geometric rectangular and big table lamp. Remnants of glue on the bottom of the base. The label is gone, unfortunately.

This chrome rectangular table lamp is made in high quality with beautiful ornamental screws. It is a heavy lamp. The lampshade is adjustable in Height.

Belgo Chrom

Belgo Chrom was a company founded by the family De Wulf. First located in Gavere, later around 1984 it moved to Deinze near Ghent (Gent) in Belgium.

The range consisted of complete dining rooms (tables, chairs, …) a wide variety of display cases, dressers, special hi-fi racks and all kinds of accessories from lamps to mirrors, mainly made in metal.

For a while, until 2002, they had a showroom at the Trade Mart on the Heysel Plateau (Heizel), the area in the north of Brussels, where the 1935 Brussels International Exposition and the Expo 58 took place. At that time 70 people worked for the company. Belgo Chrom went bankrupt in 2011.

VLM Components

All the electric parts were made by VLM Components in the 1970s. The company was founded in 1945 in Buccinasco, a small village near Milan, Italy. The company became famous for the switches they produce since 1968, designed by Achille Castiglioni. You can find them over here. VLM is part of the Relco Group, founded in 1967. Today they are the owners of the brands RelcoLeuciRelco LightingVLM and Segno.
