Tom Kater Table Lamp 

Materials: Clear acrylic round base and rod. Brass ornamental parts. White conical fabric lampshade. Some plastic parts. White painted Bakelite E27 socket.

Total Height: 42,5 cm / 16.73”

Lampshade: ∅ 30,5 cm / 12”

Height: 37 cm / 14.56”

Base: ∅ 16.5 cm / 6.49”

Electricity: 1 bulb E27, 1 x 60 watt maximum, 110/220 volt.
Any type of light bulb can be used, but a small round E27 bulb is preferred.

Period: 1990s, 2000s.

Designer: To be appraised.

Manufacturer: Tom Kater Verlichting BV, Smitsven 10, Poelenburg, Zaandam (Zaanstad), The Netherlands.

Other Versions: For the moment it is unknown if this Tom Kater table lamp exists in several versions. Maybe it was made in several sizes.

This light is often sold as a vintage table lamp from the late 70’s, early 80’s, but it is not.

Tom Kater Verlichting

Tom Kater Verlichting BV (Tom Cat Lighting Co) was founded in 1996 and is specialised in decorative lighting. It is a small company and the collection is not large, but it gives great attention to each individual product. The company has no website, unfortunately.  Today (2019) they are located at Noordeinde 80, 1511 AE Oostzaan, The Netherlands. 

Acrylic: often named by its commercial name: Perspex, Plexiglas, Crylux, Acrylite, Lucite, is a transparent thermoplastic.
