The Beleuchtungskörperfabrik Schröder & Co. (lighting fixture factory) was founded in 1895 as Gebrüder Schröder (brothers Schröder). Lamps were produced under the brand name Escolux, such as this one and Esco

The Schröder & Co. company was located in Neheim-Hüsten, the light capital of Germany. Many other famous companies were or are also located in this town. Among others: Hillebrand, Kaiser Leuchten, Leclaire & Schäfer, Gebrüder Cosack, Hustadt-Leuchten, Baum Leuchten, Cöppicus-Schulte & Bongard, Dame & Co., Bankamp Leuchten and Honsel Leuchten.
