Schröder & Co.
The Beleuchtungskörperfabrik Schröder & Co. (lighting fixture factory) was founded in 1895 as Gebrüder Schröder (brothers Schröder). Lamps were produced under the brand name Escolux, such as this one and Esco.
The Schröder & Co. company was located in Neheim-Hüsten, the light capital of Germany. Many other famous companies were or are also located in this town. Among others: Hillebrand, Kaiser Leuchten, Leclaire & Schäfer, Gebrüder Cosack, Hustadt-Leuchten, Baum Leuchten, Cöppicus-Schulte & Bongard, Dame & Co., Bankamp Leuchten and Honsel Leuchten.
In 1975 the company moved to Arnsberg, some 10 km / 6.21 mi to the east. What happened with the company is unclear, it probably ended business in the 1980’s. Do you have an idea? Please let us know through the contact form and help improve the websites exactitude. Your help is much appreciated.
The company should not be confused with Metallwerk Werner Schröder from Lobenstein, also a German lighting producer.
