Other versions: These ceramic duck table lamps exists in several versions. White ducks with a black beak exists. Also a table lamp with a white swan was made and a table lamp with an upright duck. In all probability several others exists.

These table lamps have a paper label on the bottom, J.L.B. 75 watt Max, Type: (hand written) “Canard bec rouge” in French: duck red beak.
The ceramics are in all probability porcelain. The brass rectangular base is patinated over the years. The ducks are a presentation of the common merganser (or a fantasy).
