Smoked Glass Wall Lamp

Materials: Half round light in brown plastic. Smoked brown glass lampshade. Bakelite wall mount. Metal E14 socket.

Height: 19 cm / 7.48”

Width: 19 cm / 7.48”

Depth: 11,5 cm / 4.52”

Electricity: 1 bulb E14 fitting, 1 x 40 watt maximum, 110/220 volt.
Any type of light bulb can be used, not a specific one preferred.

Period: 1970s – Mid-Century Modern.

Designer: To be appraised.

Manufacturer: HP Leuchten, Germany.

Other versions: This smoked glass wall lamp was also made in white. Also produced with translucent and frosted glass.

Often said that it is a lamp made by Herda, The Netherlands, but the logo HP on the label says otherwise, as you can see below. Why many people think it is a lamp from Herda is unclear. Possibly copycats.

Unfortunately there is nothing to be found about this HP company. Probably it is long gone and forgotten. Also, not many lamps to be found on the internet. A hexagonal ceiling lamp or wall lamp sometimes appears and other versions of this half round one. Several other wall lamps and flush mounts can also be found. Probably the HP Leuchten company only produced wall lamps and flush mounts.
