Honsel Leuchten was founded in 1833 as Gebrüder Wolff, today Fischer & Honsel GmbH. Fischer & Honsel GmbH bought Gebruder Wolff in 1959. This makes Honsel the oldest lighting company in the lighting city Neheim-Hüsten.
Honsel develops, produces and distributes decorative lighting until today. Honsel has an operational site of 32,000 m² (7.9 acres). The company employs about 100 people. The company merged with Fischer Leuchten from Sundern to form Fischer & Honsel GmbH.
Neheim-Hüsten (Arnsberg) is the light capital of Germany. Arnsberg is located in the north-east of the Sauerland in the Ruhr river valley.

Lamps in the movies
A Honsel Leuchten spiral table lamp, or a very similar one, but not an Ingo Maurer lamp, was used as a prop in the 2017 French drama TV series Juste Un Regard. Created by Harlan Coben. Based on his American novel of the same title Just One Look from 2004. Here in season 1, episode 5. Starring Virginie Ledoyen, Thierry Neuvic and Thierry Frémont.
