LUXUS

Uno Kristiansson (born 1925) & Östen Kristiansson (1927-2003) are two brothers and designers from Sweden. They learned the furniture business from their father who ran his own company Vittsjö Furniture since 1929.

In 1950 Luxus was born; Uno Kristiansson founded his own company in the same town. He produced a range of products that were designed by the two brothers.

In the late 1960s Östen Kristiansson took over his father’s business and renamed it Östen Kristiansson AB. Today the company is operating under its original name, Vittsjö Möbelfabrik AB. He passed away in 2003.

Vittsjö is a small town in Sweden with some 1690 inhabitants (2016). One fifth of all employment is within the manufacturing industry. The town hosts six of the largest companies in Sweden.
