Other versions: This BASE Italy crystal glass pendant lamp was in all probability produced in several colours.

This crystal hand blown glass pendant lamp is in all probability produced on the Murano island near Venice in Italy. The glass is made “incamiciato”. The Incamiciato technique was invented in Murano in the beginning of the 20th century.

The label says: BASE Made in Italy. Nothing to be found about the name or company. Once in a blue moon a pendant lamp from this brand is for sale on the internet. In all probability it was a small company and it no longer exists. Maybe BASE was an abbreviation.

Empoli: Another region in Italy were this pendant lamp could be originated from.

Many Italian glass furnace companies at that time used these type of labels with red and gold.

Incamiciato: overlay lattimo glass (= milky looking glass) with a layer of transparent coloured glass.
