Materials: Crystal hand blown glass globe style lampshade. Vanilla-yellow transparent on the outside, white on the inside (incamiciato). Some small metal and plastic parts. Bakelite E27 socket.

Any type of light bulb can be used. However a white/opaque or frosted one gives the best result. Clear light bulbs creates stripes on the glass lampshade and therefore also on the wall.

This crystal hand blown glass pendant lamp is in all probability produced on the Murano island near Venice in Italy. The glass is made “incamiciato”. The Incamiciato technique was invented in Murano in the beginning of the 20th century.
The label says: BASE Made in Italy. Nothing to be found about the name or company. Once in a blue moon a pendant lamp from this brand is for sale on the internet. In all probability it was a small company and it no longer exists. Maybe BASE was an abbreviation.
Empoli: Another region in Italy were this pendant lamp could be originated from.
Many Italian glass furnace companies at that time used these type of labels with red and gold.
Incamiciato: overlay lattimo glass (= milky looking glass) with a layer of transparent coloured glass.
