Designer: To be appraised.
Manufacturer: Alam, Bologna, Italy.
Other versions: In all probability, this 1970s Alam table lamp exists also as a floor lamp and exists with several different lampshades. Since the German manufacturer or seller has it in several versions. Labelled with Alam, Bologna.
Very rare table lamp from the Italian company Alam. Nothing can be found about the company. Alam: It’s probably an abbreviation, but of what? Also a company named Lam exists, also from Bologna, Italy. Is it the same company or has it got anything to do with it? The label is completely different.

This lamp, or a virtually identical lamp, was sold by the German company Star-Leuchten. The one on this website is in chrome and has a glass opaline lampshade with a chrome ring, as you can see. They are clearly the same lamps. Then who is the manufacturer? Is it a German lamp, or an Italian one, or neither…
This lamp has a switch with 3 positions: only the light bulb below, only the bulb on top or both light bulbs together.
1970s Alam Table Lamp
Star-Leuchten version in chrome and glass. You could say this is the fancier version of the Alam lamp.
Many thanks to Lluís from Eclectique Vintage for the photos.
