Vetrofond
The Vetrofond company is renowned for the glass rods they produce for the lighting industry. It is located in Canton, some 25 km / 15.5 mi from Venice. Occasionally they made lamps. They are a rare find.
A large amount of their glass is sold to companies that make glass products over there. Glass rods are produced in many colours and melted for production. Also hobbyists use their glass rods, you can buy them in every country.
Another company that produces glass rods is Effetre International. Effetre is the sole glass manufacturer in Murano itself of this type of glass.
Big competitors are located in Lauscha, Germany. Several companies produce glass rods. Lauscha is well know for the hand blown Christmas tree bulbs.
