List Of Murano Companies & Labels – Old Labels
This page lists all the company numbers that participated in Veneziavetro, a consortium promoting Murano glass since the 1980s. Not all companies participated. For example, you’ll never find such a label on FontanaArte or Vistosi pieces. These companies often do use labels that mention Murano, but they do not use these labels.
Note that some lighting manufacturers have had different Murano glass suppliers over the years. For example, you might find Kalmar lamps with 014 labels from AV Mazzega, but also with 048 labels, in which case the glass is from Leucos.
Also, to keep things simple, the 048 doesn’t necessarily mean your lamp is from Kalmar or Leucos; it could just as easily be Artemide or Arteluce. Everything will depend on the lamp itself, the design, and the period. In this case, the maker of the glass for these companies is Leucos.
We see the same thing at 012, multiple names, but the maker of the glass in this case is Aureliano Toso.
In the beginning, the numbers consisted of two digits, later they added a zero in front of them, so 44 became 044. The companies remained the same.
I haven’t included the labels on this page. Firstly, apart from the number, they’re all the same. Secondly, the other label can already be found in the Labels & Logos section. I have all the labels in my archive; adding them is simply a lot of work and doesn’t add much. It just slows down this page.
These labels were used until around the beginning of this century. In 2002, new labels were introduced. These are the colored red or blue labels; that list is shown on the right for completeness. Since 2016, labels with a QR code have been used.
At the bottom are some links to Facebook groups and websites where you can find more information about Murano and their labels. These are for people specifically looking for information about their glass objects, and not directly for lighting.
