Other versions: This Holm Sørensen brass round pendant lamp exists in several sizes. Svend Aage Holm Sørensen designed many lamps in this style as you can see below. They were all made in burned copper or brass.

The style of these type of lamps is often named Brutalist. Not to be confused with the Brutalist architecture, or Brutalism from more or less the same period. That’s something completely different.

Svend Aage Holm Sørensen

Svend or Sven Aage Holm Sørensen was a Danish designer who created lamps for Fog & Mørup and Lyfa in the 1950s, before he started his own business, so is said.

He founded his company Holm Sørensen & Co in the mid 1950s. The production started with desk lamps, but Svend invented his own special type of brass and copper. He used it to create very sculptural lights up through the 1960s. The metal was often burned and cut with rustic edges and surfaces. This pendant lamp is a beautiful example.
