Atelje Lyktan 1934 – 2000 Lighting Catalogue

Ateljé Lyktan

Ateljé Lyktan is a Swedish lighting company founded in 1934 by Hans Bergström and his girlfriend Verna Norell. They wanted to make lamps and weave rugs.

Hans would look after the lamp making and Verna would be in charge of the weaving workshop. The Swedish words for workshop and lamp combined to form the name: Ateljé Lyktan.

Ateljé Lyktan has been active in Åhus for most of its history, and still has its head office there (2018). The company is now part of the Fagerhulst Group, which acquired Ateljé Lyktan in 1974.

Important designers in the company’s history have been Hans Bergström, Anders Pehrson, Bengt Fitger, Tommy Govén, Kristin Leibel, Kristian Andréason, Mia Cullin, Henrik Schulz and many more.

Many thanks to Cyril for the catalogue.
