Other versions: This desk lamp was produced in many colours and was also made as a floor lamp. These lights were build with a normal switch or a dimmer.
Gianfranco Frattini was born on 15 Mai 1926 in Padua, Italy. He got is degree in architecture in 1953 at the academy of Milan.
In the 1950s he became an apprentice of Gio Ponti.
He designed furniture for companies such as Cassina and Bernini; he designed many apartments and houses, created lamps for Arteluce, Artemide, Meroni, Leuka, Superior, Fontana Arte, Lumina and of course LUCI illuminazione d’interni.
Gianfranco-Frattini designed these desk lamps in 1979. He designed several lamps for LUCI. Other lamps he designed are: Adonis, Ala, Aloe, Caltha, Daniele, Germana, Ignazio and Noa.
Gianfranco Frattini died in Milan, Italy on 6 April, 2004, he was 78 years old.
LUCI illuminazione d’interni (indoor lighting)” was founded in 1966. Designers who have collaborated with LUCI are: Toshiyuki Kita, Giugiaro Design, Rodolfo Bonetto, Asahara Sigeaki, Francesco Brivio, Carlo Forcolini, Giancarlo Fassina, Ikaru Mori, Fabio Princivalle, Serge & Robert Cornelissen, Gabi Peretto and many others.
In 1989 LUCI changed into LUCITALIA.
