Airplane Table Lamp

Materials: Silver painted round metal base. Rubber lid on the bottom of the base. Silver painted gooseneck. Elongated red painted metal aircraft lampshade. Switch on top. Some metal parts. Porcelain halogen socket.

Height: 32 cm / 12.59”

Width: ∅ 25 cm / 9.84”

Base: ∅ 13 cm / 5.11”

Electricity: 1 bulb MR11, 1 x 10 watt maximum, 12 volt. It uses a 110/220 volt adapter.

Period: 1990s, 2000s.

Designer: To be appraised.

Manufacturer: To be appraised.

Other versions: This airplane table lamp in the form of a jet fighter was made in several colours. At least also made in blue. Made in slight differences and with a dichroic halogen bulb, as you can see. The silver painted rim is also thicker. Probably some other lamps with this base and gooseneck were also made.

This table lamp is in all probability produced in the nineties in China. No maker is present on the labels, as you can see below. Only that it uses a MR 11 light bulb, today it is a G5 bulb. MR 11 bulbs are unsuitable and far too large. Labeled: GG Type G658.

Aircraft lamps exist as long as there are planes made. The most desired are the art deco airplane lamps (1920-1939). You can find many beautiful examples online.

It is possible that this airplane table lamp was sold by IKEA or Massive from Belgium, but I could not find any proof for it.
