1950s Opal Glass Pendant Lamp

Materials: Hand blown incamiciato white opal crystal glass lampshade. Made in a bell shaped, almost conical, tubular form. Some chromed metal (iron) parts. 3 ornamental chrome screws. Bakelite E27 socket.

Cord Length: 60 cm / 23.62”

Height: 33,5 cm / 13.18”

Width: ∅ 13,5 cm / 5.31”

Electricity: 1 bulb E27, 1 x 100 watt maximum, 110/220 volt.
Not any type of light bulb can be used. White glass uses frosted or opaque light bulbs. Clear bulbs creates stripes on the glass and therefor also on the walls.

Period: 1950s, 1960s – Mid-Century Modern.

Designer: To be appraised. 

Manufacturer: To be appraised.

Other versions: For the moment it is unknown if this 1950s white opal glass pendant lamp was made in several version. In all probability this pendant lamp was made in several sizes.

Incamiciato: overlay lattimo glass (= milky looking glass) with a layer of transparent or coloured glass.

No label present. The socket is made in the 1950s, possibly also sold in the early 1960s.
