Coronell Elektro Copper Pendant Lamp

Materials: Convex lampshade made of copper & black painted metal slats and rectangular cut glass parts. Black metal lid on top, some metal parts. Bakelite E27 socket.

Cord Length: 100 cm / 39.37”

Height: 29 cm / 11.41”

Width: ∅ 27 cm / 10.62”

Electricity: 1 bulb  E27, 1 x 75 watt maximum, 110/220 volt.
Any type of light bulb can be used, not a specific one preferred.

Period: 1960s, 1970s – Mid-Century Modern.

Designer: Werner Schou.

Manufacturer: Coronell Elektro A/S, Hellerup, Zealand, Denmark.

Other versions: This Coronell Elektro copper pendant lamp exists in a few varieties. The glass parts were also used for other lamps. An example can be found here.

Coronell Elektro produced many lamps in the style of this pendant lamp. All pendant lamps or wall lamps. Most of them in copper or brass. Also wood, aluminium and iron was used. This pendant lamps is model P236 PB 2.

Often said that these pendant lamps have been designed by Swedish architect and designer Hans-Agne Jakobsson, but those are false assumptions.

Coronell Elektro A/S

Coronell Elektro A/S was founded in 1964 by designer Werner Schou (Werner Hugo August Schou). The company produced many sculptural lights, mostly in metal with glass, wood or plastic in a crystal shaped style. Some as impressive as this UFO style lamp.

Coronell Elektro A/S ended business in 1991. Coronell Lampe ApS, the latter set up in Birkerød, Denmark operated from 1979 until 1998. Birkerød is some 20 km – 12,5 Mi from Hellerup. It was also owned by designer Werner Schou.
