ARIS
Arisuo Oy (Aris) was a Finnish lighting manufacturer active in Kaarina from 1947 to 1981. Founded by Toivo Arisuo, the company became known for affordable and functional home lighting, especially metal spotlights and desk lamps.
In the 1950s Aris produced flashlights, in the 1960s illuminated shop signs, and in the 1970s it expanded into a wide range of interior lighting, with much of its production exported to Central Europe. Materials used were mainly sheet metal and plastics, and some designs came from in-house designers such as Kai Salo, while others were sourced internationally.
At its peak, Arisuo employed a couple of hundred people and collaborated with major Finnish glassmakers such as Nuutajärvi. The brand gained recognition in 1977 by winning the national Productive Idea competition with its innovative Aris stud.
After a takeover by Ensto and later Sähköliikkeiden Oy, production was moved and the factory in Kaarina was closed in 1981.

Arisuo Oy was founded in 1947. The company manufactures interior lighting, as well as plastic and metal products. The modern factory and office are located about 7 km from Turku towards Helsinki. Around 150 people work at the factory.
Aris luminaires are designed to best suit modern interior decoration. Special attention has been given to the proper direction of light and to energy-saving details. Aris luminaires are made from first-class materials, mostly domestic raw materials, and they meet industry standards.
The purpose of this catalogue is to assist you in solving various lighting problems for different spaces. The models presented here are intended not only for home lighting, but also for workplaces and public spaces such as hotels, restaurants, hospitals, etc. The factory also manufactures luminaires based on the customer’s own drawings, provided the design is suitable for industrial production.
