1960s Red Ceramic Table Lamp

Materials: Red glazed ceramic round base, conical to the top. Some brass and metal parts. Fabric and cardboard tubular lampshade decorated with printed pink and orange flowers. White painted Bakelite E27 socket.

Total height: 37 cm / 14.56”

Height: 24 cm / 9.44”

Lampshade: ∅ 18,5 cm / 7.28”

Base: 9 cm / 3.54”

Electricity: 1 bulb E27, 1 x 60 watt maximum, 110/220 volt.
Any type of light bulb can be used. Not a specific one preferred.

Period: 1960s – Mid-Century Modern.

Designer: To be appraised.

Manufacturer: To be appraised.

Other versions: This 1960s red ceramic table lamp was in all probability produced in several colours. Other decorations on the lampshade is also possible.

VLM Components

All the electric parts of this Pop Art table lamp were made by VLM Components in the 1960s. VLM Components was founded in 1945 in Buccinasco, a small village near Milan, Italy. VLM Components is part of the Relco Group, founded in 1967. Today they are the owners of the brands Relco, Leuci, Relco Lighting, VLM Components and Segno. VLM Components became famous for the switches they produce which were designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1968.
