Any type of light bulb can be used, not a specific one preferred.
Period: 1970s – Mid-Century Modern.
Designer: To be appraised, maybe it is by the hand of the French – Finnish designer Li Helo. She designed a similar light for the Dutch Company Raak in 1968. But this is just a guess. Li Helo was a “disciple” and good friend of the Finnish Maija Liisa Komulainen, who designed many beautiful lights.
Manufacturer: To be appraised.
The socket in this light is made by the Swedish company BNL, today SAB-nordic, which is rarely seen. The rise & fall mechanism is by the Italian company Rolly. At that time it was the biggest producer in Europe for this kind of mechanisms. It’s dated 1974, in all probability this lamp is from that date or maximum a short while later.
Incamiciato: overlay lattimo glass (= milky looking glass) with a layer of transparent coloured glass.
