AV Mazzega was founded in 1946 by Angelo Vittorio Mazzega. In 1950 his son Gianni Bruno Mazzega started working in the family’s glass factory. Gianni Bruno Mazzega is responsible for the creation of many beautiful lamps, maybe this one.
Today, under the watchful eye of Andrea Mazzega, grandson of Angelo Vittorio, the company works together with high-level international designers. Andrea is the president of the company since 2000.
The most famous designer of the company is Carlo Nason. He started to work for the company in the late 1960s. Several of his designs are on display here on Vintageinfo.
The 3 amber and clear crystal glass globes are made by the German company Doria. Somewhere in the past there was a replacement of the original ones. But in fact, it is a perfect marriage. The originals have the same colour. You can find some examples over here on Vintageinfo.
