Period: 1960s – 1970s – Mid-Century Modern.

Designer: To be appraised, but to say the least, inspired by the Harvey Guzzini lights who were very popular in that period.

Manufacturer: Stilux Milan, Italy.

Other versions: Numerous colours and styles as you can see on a few examples on this page, even a wall light was designed.

This lamp is from 1973; the system for the rise and fall has a date on it, and is made by the Italian Rolly company, a manufacturer that produced rise & fall systems for many light companies throughout Europe.

These lights always have a switch on top op the shade. Some versions have gold coloured anodized aluminium.

The Stilux company no longer exists. There is a Stilux company in Milan, but it’s got nothing to do with lighting: “Stilux is a company that deals with professional printing and paper converting solutions for communication”. There was also a Sti-lux company that made lamps in the 1990s, but that also no longer exists.
