Octagon Ceiling Light or Wall Light

 

Condition: In excellent condition.

Materials: White painted metal, crystal glass, Bakelite socket.

Height: 29 cm / 11.41”

Width: 20 cm  / 7.87”

Electricity: 1 bulb E27 – 1 x 100 watt max – 110/220 volt.
Any type of light bulb can be used, not a specific one preferred. In this setup a small globe light bulb is used.

Period: 1970s – 1980s – Mid-Century Modern.

Designer: To be appraised.

Manufacturer: Glashütte Limburg, Limburg an der Lahn, Germany.

Model number: 3530.

Other versions: Made in several colours and sizes. Up to 4 bulbs. Also made as a pendant lamp, wall lamp and table lamp.

Glashütte Limburg was founded right after the Second World War in 1947 and is a member of the BEGA Group. The company still exists and they make beautiful (industrial) lighting. Glashütte Limburg received 160 iF-awards (from 1960 until 2017). Since 2017 the name Glashütte Limburg is no longer used. All lights are sold under the brand name BEGA.

Limburg an der Lahn is a small town in Germany in the western state Hessen on the borders of the river Lahn with a population of some 35.000 inhabitants (2016).
