Always described as a lamp from Denmark but this type of rocket light is made in the United Kingdom, probably in the late 1950s, early 1960s: the Space Age. If you want one, you have to buy it over there. They are hard to find anywhere else in this version: the most beautiful one.

One source says it is a light made by Novoplast from the Czech Republic but that’s hard to believe because you always find these lights in the UK. Novoplast was founded in 1947 and is specialized in glass-fibre reinforced plastics.

Used as a prop in the British movie Made In Dagenham, a dramatization of the 1968 strike at the Ford car plant in the city of Dagenham, where female workers walked out in protest against sexual discrimination. Movie made in 2010.
