Materials: Round metal (iron) base covered with black rubber. 2 right-angled white painted aluminium tubes. The lampshade tube is is provided with elongated slots. Black plastic parts. Aluminium reflector. Porcelain socket.

Other versions: This LUCI Abele desk lamp was produced in many colours and was also made as a floor lamp, it was named Veronica. These lights were build with a normal switch or a dimmer.

Gianfranco Frattini

Gianfranco Frattini was born on 15 Mai 1926 in Padua, Italy. He got is degree in architecture in 1953 at the academy of Milan.
In the 1950s he became an apprentice of Gio Ponti.

He designed furniture for companies such as Cassina and Bernini; he designed many apartments and houses, created lamps for Arteluce, Artemide, MeroniLeukaSuperiorFontana ArteLumina and of course LUCI illuminazione d’interni.

Gianfranco-Frattini designed these desk lamps in 1979. He designed several lamps for LUCI. Other lamps he designed are: Adonis, Ala, AloeCalthaDaniele, GermanaIgnazio and Noa.

Gianfranco Frattini passed away in Milan, Italy on 6 April 2004, he was 78 years old.

LUCI illuminazione d’interni (indoor lighting)” was founded in 1966. Designers who have collaborated with LUCI are: Toshiyuki Kita, Giugiaro Design, Rodolfo Bonetto, Asahara Sigeaki, Francesco Brivio, Carlo Forcolini, Giancarlo Fassina, Ikaru Mori, Fabio Princivalle, Serge & Robert Cornelissen, Gabi Peretto and many others. For a while the name Luci Cinisello was used. It is the town near Milan where the company was located.

In 1989 LUCI changed into LUCITALIA. The company merged with Ghidini Lighting, founded in 1974. Ghidini Lighting is an Italian company specialised in the design and production of technical outdoor lighting fixtures. The company is located at the Via Monsuello 211, 25065 Lumezzane, Italy. Some 100 km / 62 mi from Milan.
